MEMPHIS, Tenn., - August 8, 2013 - (RealEstateRama) -- Memphis-area home sales for July increased 22.5 percent from a year ago, with 1,714 total sales recorded in the Memphis Area Association of REALTORS® MAARdata property records database. Total sales were up 17.5 percent from June. Average sales price year-over-year rose 8.8 percent to $161,399. Inventory was up 2.6 percent with 6,744 units listed for sale. Sales volume YTD increased 21.8 percent to $1.34 billion.

MEMPHIS, TN - August 7, 2013 - (RealEstateRama) -- Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) announced today that two local organizations have been awarded a total of $373,888 in grant funding to help reduce homelessness in Memphis. The Community Alliance for the Homeless will receive $157,418 in two separate grants and the Friends for Life Corporation will receive for $216,470 from a single grant.
