Memphis, Tenn., – August 20, 2013 – (RealEstateRama) — The Shelby County Board of Commissioners on Monday, Aug. 19, officially commemorated the 100th Anniversary of the Code of Ethics of the National Association of REALTORS® and its nearly 100 million REALTOR® members.
Locally, more than 3,000 members of the Memphis Area Association of REALTORS® are committed to following the Code of Ethics and upholding the highest professional standards as they work on behalf of sellers and buyers of real property. The county’s proclamation was presented at the County Administration Building by Shelby County Mayor Mark Luttrell.
“The Code of Ethics is sometimes called the “golden thread” because it unites the REALTOR® family,” said MAAR President Regina Hubbard. “We take it very seriously. It is our duty to perform our jobs with honor, integrity and competency.”
For more than a century, the Memphis Area Association of REALTORS® has been serving and representing real estate professionals, as well as providing real estate information to the general public. Approximately 3,000 members unite to make up Tennessee’s largest REALTOR® organization with real estate expertise stretching from the greater Memphis area to include Shelby, Fayette, Tipton, Hardin, Hardeman and McNairy counties.
