Cohen Announces More Than $4.3 Million in Funding to Help End Homelessness in Memphi
Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today announced that $4,368,290 in federal funds has been awarded to the City of Memphis and 13 local non-profit organizations to help end homelessness in the Ninth District. This funding comes through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) Continuum of Care program, which is designed to promote communitywide commitment to the goal of ending homelessness
Cohen Highlights Decreased Homelessness Rates in Memphis
Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today highlighted the progress made combatting homelessness in the Memphis area, which has now declined for each of the last two years. The Congressman made his remarks at a news conference with Mayor A C Wharton, Community Alliance for the Homeless Executive Director Katie Kitchin and several other local officials. Congressman Cohen announced more than $150,000 in federal funding for the Alliance last year.
