Tennessee Housing Development Agency has hired Stephen A. Fisher to open its new servicing division. Fisher created the Loan Servicing Department at West Virginia Development Fund in 1989, bringing servicing in-house from 40 lenders.
Congressman Cohen Announces $60 Million Flooding Disaster Recovery and Prevention Grant for Shelby County
Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today announced the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has awarded Shelby County a $60 million grant for the Mid-South Regional Greenprint and Sustainability Plan to help address unmet recovery needs in Memphis and Shelby County from the 2011 floods and protect Memphians from future flooding disasters.
Governor appoints Memphis-area homebuilder to THDA Board
Governor Bill Haslam has named Memphis-area homebuilder Kim Grant Brown to serve on the Tennessee Housing Development Agency Board of Directors. Brown, a daughter and granddaughter of homebuilders, built her first home the summer between her junior and senior years of college.
Jim Sattler appointed to THDA Board of Directors
Governor Bill Haslam has named Chattanooga’s James (Jim) Sattler to serve on the Tennessee Housing Development Agency Board of Directors. Sattler has a long term of service on the Chattanooga Housing Authority, the last four years as vice chairman of the Board of Commissioners. He is a developer with Chestnut Development Partners.
December Market Report
Memphis-area home sales for December decreased 0.9 percent from a year ago, with 1,367 total sales recorded in the Memphis Area Association of REALTORS® MAARdata property records database. Sales were up 25.9 percent from November, when there were 1,086 total sales. Average sales price from December-to-December was up 9.0 percent, at $156,102. Inventory decreased 4.8 percent, with 5,793 units listed for sale. Monthly sales volume YTD increased 7.9 percent to $2.60 billion for the whole of 2015

Sales were down 18.7 percent from October, when there were 1,336 total sales. Average sales price from November-to-November was up 5.9 percent, at $157,736. Inventory decreased 3.3 percent, with 6,086 units listed for sale. Monthly sales volume YTD increased 7.7 percent to $2.38 billion.
