Washington, D.C. – January 14, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — Governor Bill Haslam has named Chattanooga’s James (Jim) Sattler to serve on the Tennessee Housing Development Agency Board of Directors.

Sattler has a long term of service on the Chattanooga Housing Authority, the last four years as vice chairman of the Board of Commissioners. He is a developer with Chestnut Development Partners. The firm is a commercial real estate investment firm based in Chattanooga. He has a deep understanding of THDA’s central focus from his experience as former CEO and chairman of the board of EMJ Corporation, which offers a full range of building-industry services including general contracting, construction management, renewable energy construction, Native American construction, project safety consulting, construction risk management, and construction recruiting.

“I am honored the governor has appointed me to the THDA Board of Directors,” said Sattler. “I have a deep interest in the continued strength of Tennessee, its households, its communities, and the state as a whole. THDA’s success in providing housing opportunities is key to our continued success in drawing businesses to Tennessee.”

The Tennessee Housing Development Agency (THDA) was created by the State Legislature in 1973 to provide loans, grants, tax credits, and other financing opportunities to encourage the construction, repair, and preservation of affordable housing and to help ensure the housing market meets the needs of every Tennessean, regardless of income, disability, or age.
