A 100-year-old Island Home Park neighborhood pillar demolished by an errant commercial truck driver is being repaired, and City of Knoxville traffic engineers have added additional signs to direct drivers of commercial vehicles to safely use the designated truck route while a section of Island Home Avenue is closed.

Shelbyville Housing Authority awarded Housing Trust Fund grant

The Shelbyville Housing Authority received a grant from Tennessee Housing Development Agency to construct supportive housing for Bedford County residents. Tennessee Housing Development Agency (THDA) made the $90,000 Housing Trust Fund grant at its November Board of Directors meeting. The grant was one of 11 totaling $2.8 million that were approved by the board.
