Governor Haslam, Commissioner Boyd Announce UBS to Expand Current Operations in Middle Tennessee

NASHVILLE – June 23, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam and Economic and Community Development Commissioner Randy Boyd along with UBS officials announced today the company will expand its current operations in Middle Tennessee by opening a new office in Williamson County at One Franklin Park. UBS will invest $11.2 million to outfit the space, which will accommodate the growth of the UBS Business Solution Center, as well as, a satellite branch office for Wealth Management Americas financial advisors, creating over 350 new jobs over the next several years.

“We want to thank UBS for this investment and for creating these new jobs in Middle Tennessee,” Haslam said. “When a globally recognized brand like UBS decides to invest here and then continues to expand, it strengthens Tennessee’s brand and our ability to compete in the global marketplace. That’s exciting news for Tennessee and is another step forward in our effort to become the No. 1 location in the Southeast for high quality jobs.”

“Since opening their Business Solution Center in downtown Nashville, UBS continues to make a significant impact in this region,” Boyd said. “We are working to become the most aligned state in the nation when it comes to workforce and education, creating a pipeline of Tennesseans who have the right qualifications and training so companies like UBS can find the employees they need for ongoing success. I appreciate the partnership with Pat Emery and Spectrum Properties who were key to making this expansion possible.”

“UBS is proud to partner with Governor Haslam and the Economic and Community Development Commission as we expand our presence in Middle Tennessee through additional jobs and investment in real estate,” said Wanda Lyle, Managing Director and General Manager of the UBS Nashville Business Solution Center. “We are pleased that our expanded presence will support the local economy and create new business opportunities.”

In August 2013, UBS announced a $36.5 million investment to establish a shared services center in Nashville, creating 1,000 new jobs over the next five years. The UBS Nashville Business Solution Center offers expanded business services in support of their wealth management and investment banking divisions. The Franklin office is creating new positions beyond the 1,000 jobs UBS announced in August 2013.

“We are pleased that UBS has chosen to seek office space in Williamson County to expand support to its back-office data center currently located in downtown Nashville”, Williamson County Mayor, Rogers Anderson, said. “With Williamson County’s economic vitality, the planned move into Cool Springs leaves them well positioned to achieve their growth strategies into the future. They will join a large number of corporations and publicly traded companies who call Williamson County their business and personal homes, providing a number of quality of life amenities including excellent schools, health care and leisure services.”

“I am thrilled UBS continues to grow and expand their presence in Middle Tennessee,” Williamson, Inc. President and CEO Matt Largen said. “We greatly appreciate UBS’s commitment to Williamson County through the establishment of a business solution center in Franklin Park One. This announcement is another great example of regional economic development. It shows that when we work together as a region, prosperity follows.”

Franklin and Williamson County are represented by Sen. Jack Johnson (R – Franklin), Rep. Charles Sargent (R – Franklin), Rep. Glen Casada (R – Franklin) and Rep. Jeremy Durham (R – Franklin).
