Cohen Announces $422,000 in Funding to Fight and Prevent Veteran Homelessness
WASHINGTON, D.C. - July 15, 2013 - (RealEstateRama) -- Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) announced today that Memphis Area Legal Services, Inc., has been awarded $422,000 in funding to help prevent an estimated 100 local veterans and their families from falling homeless and find housing for those that already have. Today’s grant funding is through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs’ Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) Program.

HUD Provides Grant for Housing Counselors

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - June 10, 2013 - (RealEstateRama) -- Memphis-area home sales for May increased 1.6 percent from a year ago, with 1,473 total sales recorded in the Memphis Area Association of REALTORS® MAARdata property records database. Total sales increased 6.3 percent from April. Average sales price year-over-year rose 10.6 percent at $139,779. Inventory was flat with 6,483 units listed for sale.
