Nissan and Heisman Trust partner with Habitat for Humanity to build a real ‘Heisman...

For the fourth consecutive year, Nissan is partnering with the Heisman Trophy Trust to begin construction of a Habitat for Humanity home in a community where the automaker has a business presence. This year the home is located north of Nashville.

McNeill, Steffner, Woods, Crosstown Receive Top Pinnacle Award Honors

The Memphis Area Association of REALTORS® Commercial Council honored the top performers in commercial real estate for 2015 at the 15th Annual Pinnacle Awards gala held April 7 at the Memphis Botanic Garden. Coming away with the evening’s highest honors were Commercial Hall of Fame inductee Phillip McNeill, Commercial Broker of the Year Joe Steffner, of Newmark Grubb Knight Frank, and Legacy Award winner Gene Woods. The Community Impact Award went to Crosstown Concourse.

THDA Seeks Public Comment on Application for Four Federal Housing Programs

The Tennessee Housing Development Agency (THDA) is seeking public comment on the State of Tennessee’s Annual Action Plan, which serves as the State’s application for four federal housing programs

February Market Report

Memphis-area home sales for February increased 7.8 percent from a year ago, with 1,040 total sales recorded in the Memphis Area Association of REALTORS® MAARdata property records database. Sales were up 8.8 percent from January, when there were 956 total sales. Average sales price from February-to-February was down 8.5 percent, at $139,335. Inventory increased 1.8 percent, with 5,474 units listed for sale. YTD sales volume decreased by 6.5 percent from February 2015, at $279.5 million.

Jim Sattler appointed to THDA Board of Directors

Governor Bill Haslam has named Chattanooga’s James (Jim) Sattler to serve on the Tennessee Housing Development Agency Board of Directors. Sattler has a long term of service on the Chattanooga Housing Authority, the last four years as vice chairman of the Board of Commissioners. He is a developer with Chestnut Development Partners.

December Market Report

Memphis-area home sales for December decreased 0.9 percent from a year ago, with 1,367 total sales recorded in the Memphis Area Association of REALTORS® MAARdata property records database. Sales were up 25.9 percent from November, when there were 1,086 total sales. Average sales price from December-to-December was up 9.0 percent, at $156,102. Inventory decreased 4.8 percent, with 5,793 units listed for sale. Monthly sales volume YTD increased 7.9 percent to $2.60 billion for the whole of 2015

Laura Flaniken of Coldwell Banker Collins-Maury was named 2015 REALTOR-ASSOCIATE® of the Year. The 2015 Affiliate of the Year honor went to Kelly Jones of Movement Mortgage. Pat Beech of Arlena Enos REALTORS® received the 2015 Outstanding Leadership Award. Ron Poe of The Poe Firm received the 2015 Shorty Watkins Award
