Corker Looks Forward to Successful Markup of Housing Finance Reform Legislation

U.S. Senator Bob Corker (R-Tenn.), a member of the Senate Banking Committee, issued the following statement today after Chairman Tim Johnson (D-S.D.) and Ranking Member Mike Crapo (R-Idaho) announced the committee will markup the Housing Finance Reform and Taxpayer Protection Act (S.1217), a bipartisan bill introduced last year by Corker and Senator Mark Warner (D-Va.) and cosponsored by a bipartisan group of 10 senators, on Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at 10:00 A.M

Cohen Highlights Decreased Homelessness Rates in Memphis

Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09) today highlighted the progress made combatting homelessness in the Memphis area, which has now declined for each of the last two years. The Congressman made his remarks at a news conference with Mayor A C Wharton, Community Alliance for the Homeless Executive Director Katie Kitchin and several other local officials. Congressman Cohen announced more than $150,000 in federal funding for the Alliance last year.
